Students certified as an EMT in the State of Colorado are permitted to perform limited intravenous therapy under medical direction following successful completion of the course.

This is a 40 hr program with 32 hrs in class and 8 hr of clinicals in an ER. You are required to have the IV Manual for this course and can be purchased upon registering. You willl be required to complete a minimum of 10 successful live sticks in class AND in the clinical setting. We are partnered with HealthOne of the clinicals and they will work with you on that schedule. 

You must have your COLORADO STATE EMT Basic Certificate prior to registering for class. NREMT certificate will not suffice. Please note that we are not authorized to certify CNAs/RNs/LPNs/PAs with our IV Approval Course. This course is for the certification of the EMT Basic only in IV Therapy. 

You will need the following documents ready to upload when you register:

• Copy of your current Colorado EMT Certificate

• Required vaccinations:
  • Full COVID-19 vaccination, TdAP, MMR, Influenza, Hepatitis B, and Varicella.
    • Seasonal flu vaccination required if your course occurs between September 1st-March 31st

• Required: Tuberculosis (Tb) skin test within past 12 moths or negative chest x-ray

• A copy of your AHA BLS Provider Card.

• A copy of your Nationwide Background check (must have been completed within 6 months of course date)

If these are not received you may be requried to rescheduled to a later class.
