Class Description :

This is a 3.5 hour course. The BLS Provider Classroom Course is for those whose cards have expired, are taking BLS for the first time, or who prefer learning in a classroom environment. Excellent hands-on practice is available at this class. 

**The 2020 BLS Provider Student Manual is required for each student for this class. Please ensure you have access to one or purchase one at time of checkout from Action Medical.**

Class Description :

This is a 2 hour cours. The BLS Renewal Class is for those who are currently AHA BLS certified and needing to renew their certification.
Excellent hands-on practice is available at this class.
  • You must have a current American Heart Association BLS certification to be allowed into this class and it must be e-mailed to info@actioneducation.net prior to the day of class. Failure to provide this may require you to be rescheduled!

Cardiology CE is a two hour class that will cover post- resuscitation care, ventricular assist devices, cardiac arrest, ACLS Mega Code practice

The EMT National Continued Competency Program (NCCP) requires a total of 40 hours of continuing education to recertify. The model requires continuing education in three components: (1) a national component, (2) a local/state component, and (3) an individual component.

National Component: 20 Hours

The National Component requires EMTs to complete 20 hours of approved continuing education. A maximum of 7 hours of distributive education may be used to meet the 20 hour requirement.

Airway/Respiration/Ventilation: 1.5 Hour

Local or State Component: 10 Hours

If specific local and/or state are not specified, these required hours are considered flexible content. You may use any state or Commission on Accreditation for Pre-Hospital Continuing Education (CAPCE) approved EMS–related education to fulfill these requirements. A maximum of 7 hours of distributive education may be used to meet the 10 hour requirement.

Individual Component: 10 Hours

The individual hours are considered flexible content. You may use any state or Commission on Accreditation for Pre-Hospital Continuing Education (CAPCE) approved EMS–related education to fulfill these requirements. A maximum of 10 hours of distributive education may be used to meet the 10 hour requirement.

Students certified as an EMT in the State of Colorado are permitted to perform limited intravenous therapy under medical direction following successful completion of the course.

This is a 40 hr program with 32 hrs in class and 8 hr of clinicals in an ER. You are required to have the IV Manual for this course and can be purchased upon registering. You willl be required to complete a minimum of 10 successful live sticks in class AND in the clinical setting. We are partnered with HealthOne of the clinicals and they will work with you on that schedule. 

You must have your COLORADO STATE EMT Basic Certificate prior to registering for class. NREMT certificate will not suffice. Please note that we are not authorized to certify CNAs/RNs/LPNs/PAs with our IV Approval Course. This course is for the certification of the EMT Basic only in IV Therapy. 

You will need the following documents ready to upload when you register:

  • Copy of your current Colorado EMT Certificate
  • Required vaccinations:
    • Full COVID-19 vaccination, TdAP, MMR, Influenza, Hepatitis B, and Varicella.
      • Seasonal flu vaccination required if your course occurs between September 1st-March 31st
  • Required: Tuberculosis (Tb) skin test within past 12 moths or negative chest x-ray
  • A copy of your AHA BLS Provider Card.
  • A copy of your Nationwide Background check (must have been completed within 6 months of course date)

If these are not received you may be requried to rescheduled to a later class.

Course will cover OB emergencies, treatment, transport, and review of medications. Course includes hands on practice. 

Colorado state EMT skills check off for recertification and new EMT state licensure. This is a hands on skills check off for Colorado state EMT skills testing. Must verify completion of a minimum of 36 continuing education hours and renewal paperwork prior to signing up for skills testing.

This course is designed to give you 3 hours to come in and practice your psychomotor skills the day prior to the skills check off class to help you get familure with our equipment along with allowing you time to ask questions prior to your test day. This is to help maximuize your comfort level and success rate. 

Colorado state Paramedic skills check off for recertification and new Paramedic state licensure. This is a hands on skills check off for Colorado state Pramedic skills testing. Must verify completion of a minimum of 50 continuing education hours and renewal paperwork prior to signing up for skills testing.

Exam Practice, Q&A session prior to testing.

Medical Direction approval
